1. Overview and Scope

PlateWay ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your personal information when you access or use the PlateWay web application, native mobile applications, and our marketing surfaces (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide and improve the visual meal planning service:

• Account Information: When you register via magic link or authentication providers, we collect your email address. If provided, we also store your profile display name and preferences.
• Nutrition & Meal Data: Meal entries, planned meals, custom recipes, pantry items, shopping list items, and optional body measurement records that you choose to log.
• Food Photographs: When you use our AI Quick Dish estimation feature, photographs of your plate are uploaded and processed by secure AI inference to recognize dishes and estimate nutritional metrics.
• Usage & Device Data: Anonymous diagnostic telemetry, app version, language preference, and operating system to guarantee system reliability and crash resolution.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly for:

• Delivering the core visual meal planning and plate balancing features.
• Synchronizing your recipes and weekly schedule across your devices.
• Processing subscription entitlements and verifying active premium access.
• Improving app performance and resolving bugs. We never sell your personal data to data brokers or third-party advertisers.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party sub-processors to run the service:

• Payment Processors: Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record for web purchases) and Google Play / RevenueCat (for mobile in-app purchases). We do not store or process payment card details directly.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Cloudflare and Google Cloud Platform for secure, encrypted database hosting, static asset delivery, and computational API services.
• AI Inference: Google Gemini API for photo analysis and recipe extraction under confidentiality standards that do not use your private meal photos to train public consumer models.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your meal logs and account data for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app via Profile → Delete Account, or by submitting a request to support@plateway.app. Upon deletion, all personal data is permanently purged from our primary database.

6. Your Rights (GDPR and CCPA)

Depending on your location, you have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact our support team at support@plateway.app.
